Celtics Beat Bulls 101-95

Boston beat Chicago tonight by six and Rajon Rondo was clearly the leading scorer for their team with 20 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals. The Celtics handled the Bulls for three quarters but had to fight in the fourth to get the win. Boston led Chicago 33-27 at the end of the first and 58-46 at halftime. The Celtics shot just a little under 60% for the first half. Boston held a 12-point lead going into the fourth quarter but Chicago’s defense came through, forcing a 10-0 run to keep the Bulls in the game. However, a lack of execution towards the end (not to mention missed free throws—the bane of my existence), cost the Bulls another game. In my opinion, their loss is due to the fact that there were no scorers at the end of the fourth except for Luol Deng and Joakim Noah. Carlos Boozer and Rip Hamilton were sitting out, but they should have been in the game at the end—it could have turned out differently. Chicago now stands 4-3.

The Bulls leading scorers included Deng with 26 points, 11 rebounds and three assists, Noah with 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Boozer with 15 points and four rebounds. Robinson started for Kirk Henrich since he has a strained hamstring injury from last Saturday night’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Robinson had 11 points and seven assists. Teague backed up Robinson, who sat out for the fourth quarter, but between all the players, it wasn’t enough for a Bulls’ win.
