The 2012-13 point guard to look out for is:

Chris Paul.

Since he was drafted to the NBA in 2005, the current point guard for the Los Angeles Clippers has had an explosive career.

Paul was selected by the New Orleans Hornets when he initially started his pro career and played with NO until 2011 when he was traded to the Clippers. In eight years, Paul has made an impact on the NBA. He was the Rookie of the Year in 2006, 5× All-Star (2008-2012) and 4× Steals Champion (2008-2009, 2011-2012), and he holds two Olympic Gold Medals in Men’s Basketball for the United States (2008, 2012).

Since his trade to LA in 2011, Paul has managed to transform the Clippers from one of the least valued teams in the NBA to a legitimate championship contender. In just one season with the Clippers, Paul averaged 19.8 points, 9.1 assists and 2.4 steals per game (he is on his way to posting a 27.09 Player Efficiency Rating (PER), which is second only to LeBron James, the 2012 NBA Champion and MVP) according to bleacher report

Although Paul had to undergo surgery this past August due to a ligament tear in his right thumb during a training camp for the 2012 Olympic Games back in July, there is no doubt he will play in the Clippers' season opener against the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday, October 30th. According to ESPN, Chris Paul says he'll be ready.
