NBA All-Star Game Recap

The Western Conference beat the Eastern Conference 143-138 at the Toyota Center in Houston last night. LA Clippers’ Chris Paul (captain for the West) was named All-Star MVP after a great performance of 20 points (seven for 10 shooting), a whopping 15 assists and four steals… all in just 27 minutes. Last year’s MVP, Kevin Durant, finished with 30 points (13 for 24 shooting), six rebounds and two steals. Kobe Bryant had nine points, four rebounds, eight assists and two steals, and Blake Griffin finished with 19 points (nine for 11 shooting).

On the other side, Miami Heat’s Dwayne Wade (captain for the East) finished with 21 points (10 for 13 shooting) and seven assists. LeBron James had an off game with 19 points (seven for 18 shooting) and five assists, and Carmelo Anthony led the East with 26 points (eight for 14 shooting) and 12 rebounds.

Overall the game was a typical All-Star game: lots of superstars, lots of competition, lots of dunks. But the atypical (and wonderful) highlights of the night included Chris Bosh repeatedly making afool of himself (he finished with six points, two rebounds, three turnovers and three fouls—Why wasn’t he taken out of the game sooner? Nobody knows.) and Kobe’s blocks (yes, plural) on LeBron.

The 2013 game marked the West’s third straight All-Star win.
