Central Division Competitors

Who will win the Central Division this year? The question has been looming in the air since Derrick Rose tore his ACL last April. The Central Division consists of the Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks and Detroit Pistons. Normally, Chicago would be the favorite team for the division (they have won for the last two consecutive years), but since Rose will miss a large portion of the season and the Bench Mob has been dismantled, it’s really up in the air.

The Pistons lost Ben Gordon after three years with the team, but received first-round pick Andre Drummond. The Bucks lost Carlos Delfino, but added rookies John Henson and Doron Lamb along with Samuel Dalembert, and they retained Ersan Ilyasova as well. Look out for the Bucks! The Cavaliers unfortunately lost Antawn Jamison, and like the Pistons, don’t seem to be a real contender for the division this year. Of all five teams, the Pacers seem to be the only one that has kept their main players together. Although the Pacers lost their backup point guard Darren Collison and defense player Dahntay Jones, I think they have a real shot to winning the division. Although Chicago’s team has been newly revamped (and missing its key player for most of the season), I think the winner of the Central Division will come down to the Bulls or the Pacers. Let’s hope the Bulls pull it off for the third year straight!

Who do you think will win the Central Division this season?
